Local growing practice is seeking a highly motivated Medical Patient Access Representative (Biologics Medicine) to join their team.

$16.00/hour

Responsibilities:

• Manage the prior authorization process for biologic medications and other medications/treatments as required by insurance companies.
• Effectively communicate with insurance providers to obtain prior authorizations and address any coverage issues.
• Complete enrollment forms for biologic medications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Review benefit verifications to determine patient coverage for medications.
• Submit prior authorizations electronically and track their progress.
• Write clear and concise appeals and letters of medical necessity to support coverage requests.
• Coordinate all efforts with specialty pharmacies and manufacturer hubs to ensure timely medication delivery.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all patient medication approvals and denials.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of prior authorization processes and insurance regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software a plus.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Passion for patient care and a desire to help patients access necessary medications.
