This company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join their growing team. In this crucial role, you will be the vital link between customers, drivers, and freight, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently and on time.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule the pickup and delivery of freight, considering factors like driver availability, route optimization, and customer requirements.
- Set up and operate tracking equipment/software on trucks to monitor location, progress, and potential delays.
- Utilize GPS technology to track trucks in real-time, proactively addressing any issues and ensuring driver safety.
- Secure necessary oversize/overweight permits from state agencies for specific shipments.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders, providing updates and resolving any concerns promptly.
- Work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in trucking dispatch or related logistics field.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and permitting procedures.
- Proficient in logistics software and GPS tracking systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
- Valid CDL (preferred, but not mandatory).
- Familiarity with eastern North Carolina, southeastern Virginia and northeastern South Carolina is preferred.
