Opportunity for an environmental health and safety professional in Greenville, NC for an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to carry out the day-to-day EHS functions following all regulatory guidelines while ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.      This position requires interaction with hazardous waste.      

 Duties will include (does not include all functions):

Participates in the development of environmental health, safety policies, programs, and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and maintain certifications with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.

Manage creation and delivery of EHS training to meet regulatory requirements.

Monitors waste storage program across all sites and ensures waste streams are managed in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.

Coordinates with the EHS Manger to support the facility compliance process.

Makes decisions using relevant methos to enable organization operations and provide effective service to applicable departments.

Adhere to stated policies and procedures related to EHS and quality management.

Manage the creation and delivery of EHS training content to meet regulatory requirements.

Selects and manages PPE requirement and ensures adequate supplies.

Handles hazardous waste at satellite accumulation areas.

Perform EHS facility inspections.

Participate in detailed incident investigation and root cause analysis and promote incident prevention throughout the facility.

Be a “U.S person" pursuant to section 120.15 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Bachelor of Science Degree and three years of EHS management experience with knowledge of applicable environmental health and safety regulations in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

Requires advanced knowledge of environmental regulations.

Understanding of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
